Farewell Tom
15/12/2010 by admin.
We usually like to confine ourselves to good news on the Timechaser blog but some bad news reached us today and we had to give the passsing of Tom Walkinshaw a mention, back in the old days when Formula 1 was a bit less clinical than it is today Tom headed up teams such as Arrows, Benetton and Ligier, his part in the development of that formidable pairing Michael Schumacher and Ross Brawn cannot be overstressed.
A phenomenal force in motor racing with success at Le Mans - Jaguar & TWR Racing took the prize several times in the late eighties and early nineties, Tom switched to Rugby at Gloucester and there is no doubt that both sports will miss him.
Thanks for making F1 a better sport Tom.
